Stephanie & Charles E-Session Completed! - Atlanta Georgia Engagement Photographer

Here's the rest of Stephanie & Charles' engagement session. :)

Stephanie and I were best friends in high school; we were two of the three musketeers that the two of us plus our friend Hannah made. We had ridiculously long phone conversations on three-way {oh yeah, party line, people}, experienced first boyfriends, and crazy religious decisions together.

So, natch, when her Facebook announced that she was engaged, and mine announced that I was a photographer, we jumped at the chance to hang out and shoot engagement pictures.

When we first met up to talk about the wedding, she wasn't sure if the wedding was even going to happen, what with a lot of things standing in their way. But, I'm so happy to say that it's on like Donkey Kong.

We picked McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth because, well, it's awesome. It's a museum of sorts, with bits of 1920's-1930's paraphernalia, houses, and equipment showing what a Georgia farm in that time period was like. And for some reason, not that I'm complaining, there was a mini Civil War reenactment going on when we arrived, complete with black powder demonstrations, which - I'm tickled to say - scared the crap out of Stephanie and Intern Niki. Hahahaha. Ahem.

Niki and I had been checking the weather for days and days prior to the shoot, and every time we checked it, it said sunny. Sunny, sunny, sunny. Well, they lied.

Luckily, it all worked out perfectly. It was drizzling oh-so-lightly when we arrived, but finished off by the time we were ready to shoot. And God knows a cloudy sky makes the world's best softbox.

Both Stephanie and Charles were a little nervous and a little stressed when we started, but Niki and I soon knocked that right out of them. :) Thanks again, Niki; you're the best.

Audrey & Eric's Wedding - Atlanta Georgia Wedding Photographer

It's finally here! Audrey and Eric's wedding was the last of our 2010 wedding season, and it was a blast. :) I knew we would hit it off when she told me their first dance would be a swing dance, and they did a great job of it. The venue was the place where they first met - a rustic community hall in Buckhead - at a swing dance meet. Eric was super comfortable being all romantic in front of the camera, which I love, and took every opportunity to touch her face or even dip her for pictures!

They did cupcakes instead of a regular wedding cake, and not just any cupcakes, either! They were uber-gourmet and fancy cupcakes! They had flavors like caramel, buttercream and basil, chocolate sea salt, and they all had this amazingly homemade cream cheese frosting.

Since most of their friends are swing and ballroom dancers, too, the dancing part of the reception was awesome. I really felt like part of the family, and a couple of people asked Audrey if we were friends, to which she replied, "No, but I wish we were!" I think it was the most flattering thing anyone's ever said to me. :D

I did things differently with this blog post in the effort to make the images more cohesive and neat. It took more time, but I think it was worth it, except that I got a little carried away, haha. What do you think?

The Josh Adams Band - Atlanta Georgia Band Photographer

Nick and I {and fellow intern Brett} shot the Joshua Adams Band's first Georgia performance at the North River Tavern in Sandy Springs. It was a great time, and we got some great shots. Here are some of my favorites:
